Job summary

Legacy Health is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our care teams in Portland, OR. You will assist physicians, prepare patients for visits, perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration, and manage patient questions via phone and EHR.

The role supports a collaborative care model across primary and specialty clinics, emphasizing whole-person care and health system navigation. Competency in MA certification and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience; or
• Completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces; or
• Completion of Basic or Advanced Oregon Emergency Medical Technician program (Oregon only)
• MA certification within one year by AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA; Oregon EMT/NREMT route possible
• Washington State MA certification required for work in Washington
• Current BLS for Providers from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians.
• Prepare patients for office visits and procedures.
• Performs a variety of patient care activities, such as vaccine/medication administration, phlebotomy, and point of care testing.
• Provides indirect patient care via phone or EHR by addressing patient questions, processing medication refills and scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Utilize electronic health record for efficient care.
