Job description

Riley Children's Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Division is seeking a Pediatric Gastroenterologist physician scientist with significant research background and publication of high-impact basic/translational experience. The board certified pediatric gastroenterologists and skilled team members in the Division provide expert, personalized care to children with conditions of the digestive tract, liver and pancreas, as well as nutritional issues. Through comprehensive evaluation, individualized treatment and extensive education, we are a collaborative team with a common mission to improve the health and ensure quality of life through patient-focused clinical care, research, and medical education. Our team of specialists are national leaders performing more than 2,700 endoscopies and managing over 16,000 outpatient visits each year.

Position Details:

  • 80% Research 20% clinical: perform basic and translational research, teach clinical medicine and perform clinical duties in GI and hepatology, particularly transplant hepatology.
  • Research opportunities in multiple areas of Pediatric GI - expectation to obtain independent funding.
  • Clinical procedures include upper and lower diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
  • Care for patients at Riley Hospital for Children in downtown Indianapolis.
  • Dual employment with IU Health Medical Group and IU School of Medicine; comprehensive benefits through IUSM.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of ABMS pediatric residency & pediatric gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics & Pediatric Gastroenterology.
  • Physician MD/DO licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure in Indiana.
  • Significant research background and publication of high-impact basic/translational experience.
