Job summary

Akron Children's in Akron, OH, seeks a pediatric gastroenterologist to join an academically oriented division of 12 pediatric gastroenterologists and 7 nurse practitioners. This role emphasizes clinical care and teaching within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

The successful candidate will mentor residents, medical students, and GI fellows, contribute to research, and participate in scholarly activities while delivering excellent pediatric GI care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and Ohio medical license required.
• Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics or eligibility in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
• Ability to obtain an active Ohio medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical care for children with GI, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders.
• Mentor and educate pediatric residents, medical students, and GI fellows.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and academically driven team of 12 pediatric gastroenterologists and 7 nurse practitioners dedicated to advancing the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology while meeting the needs of the Hospital's growing patient population. The Division provides comprehensive care for children with a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders, with specialized expertise in motility disorders, aerodigestive conditions, inflammatory bowel disease, and other complex digestive diseases.

In addition to providing outstanding clinical care, the successful candidate will play an active role in the Division's academic mission through the education and mentorship of pediatric residents, medical students, and pediatric gastroenterology fellows.

Requirements include MD or DO degree, board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and board eligibility/certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio
