Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for our Float Pool. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The role emphasizes Family Centered Care, cost-effective delivery, and developmentally appropriate care for pediatric and related patient populations. The Float Pool may require movement to EC, Acute Care, and Critical Care areas.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of a formal nursing assistant program or CNA certification.
• Currently enrolled in a BSN degree program with at least one clinical rotation completed.
• Minimum of one year of direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collection and documentation of patient and family data.
• Provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care in collaboration with the RN and patient/family.
• Assist in identifying patient/family response to care provided.
• Maintain accountability for personal development and contribute to the development of others.
• Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, professional communication and customer service.
• Support hospital/unit goals through participation and initiative.
