Job summary

Pscfl is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Nursing professional to assess, implement, and oversee the plan of care for critically ill children in a fast-paced Magnet-designated hospital in Florida.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, rapid care delivery, medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure patient safety and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license in good standing (Florida or eNLC)
• BLS (American Heart Association) in good standing
• PALS within 2 years in good standing
• CPI within 1 year in good standing
• ACLS within 1 year preferred
• Pediatric ER nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with EMR systems
• Ability to analyze data for patient care decisions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety
• On-call coverage as per policy

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive multi-system assessments (cardiac, respiratory, neuro).
• Develop and reassess plan of care and communicate progress to physicians.
• Administer care including IVs, specimens, POC testing, meds, and sedation as needed.
• Provide 1:1 patient supervision during transport for procedures.
• Conduct bedside hand-offs during shift changes and transfers.
• Complete discharge planning and accurate EHR documentation.
• Respond to codes/traumas following department protocols.
• Ensure accurate triage documentation and vital signs.
• Access EMR for radiology workflow, consents, and discharge docs.
• Communicate critical lab results per policy and procedures.
• Provide comfort measures and pain assessments during rounding.
• Maintain an error-free environment with high-quality, safe care.
• Demonstrate proper PPE use and safety protocols.
• Meet CEI/SEI requirements and regulatory documentation.
• Supervise behavior health patients per CPI guidelines.
