Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a nurse aide to support direct and indirect patient care under a Clinical Nurse. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, performing selected treatments, and assisting with safe delivery of care. You will work with the care team to address patient and family needs with compassion and respect.

The role requires CPR, effective communication, and enrollment in a Nursing program, with demonstrated clinical practicum experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing program.
• Completed school's fundamental Nursing skills lab and at least one clinical practicum.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, peers, and supervisor; CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Under the Clinical Nurse's direction, obtain and report information to assist the nurse in assessment, planning and evaluation of patient needs, treatment and response to treatment.
• Obtain and record vital signs as delegated by the RN.
• Under the Clinical Nurse's direction, perform technical duties and selected treatments and activities contributing to safe and efficient patient care.
• Obtain a 12-lead ECG and continuous Lead II with correct patient information entered.
• Assist in patient care with attention to safety of key populations as appropriate.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, offering suggestions to address patient/family needs with respect for diversity.
