Job summary

FMOL Health in Baton Rouge seeks a Nurse Technician who is an RN student graduating in December 2027 or later for the Pediatric ER team. The role focuses on basic patient care, ADLs, and assisting under close RN supervision in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is a current nursing student with clinical experience, strong communication, and familiarity with medical terminology. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Student nurse in good standing with completion of basic patient skills within nursing program.
• Enrolled in an RN accredited School of Nursing program in Junior or Senior year with second clinical rotation completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and assist with activities of daily living under nurse supervision.
• Assist in admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
• Measure, record, and report patient data (vital signs, weight) to RN.
• Assist with meals, hygiene, linen changes, and mobility needs.
• Transport medications to patient care areas as directed.
• Maintain clean and organized patient rooms and nursing station areas.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments and tests as directed by RN.
• Utilize equipment safely for patient care under RN guidance.
• Support quality improvement and adherence to nursing standards.
