The role involves basic nursing tasks, completing required competencies, and assisting with daily living activities and treatment preparation.

The position emphasizes adherence to nursing standards, efficient use of supplies, and quality improvement participation.

Qualifications

• Student nurse in good standing with basic patient skills within nursing program.
• Must be enrolled in an RN-accredited program (Junior/Senior with second clinical rotation) or an LPN-accredited program (first semester).
• Student nurse in good standing within an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
• Measure, document data (vital signs, weight) and report changes to RN.
• Assist with ADLs and personal care (hygiene, meals, linen changes).
• Assist with transporting and mobility needs of patients.
• Retrieve medications and deliver to nurse or secure location.
• Keep patient rooms and nursing stations clean and orderly.
• Assist physicians with examination, treatments, and tests; collect and transport specimens.
• Perform nursing activities under supervision and use equipment safely.
