Mercy invites applications for a Pediatric Emergency Medicine RN to join the DAYS shift. The role uses the nursing process to deliver direct patient care, with accountability for each patient’s care and collaboration with other departments to coordinate services.

Responsibilities include upholding patient rights and privacy within Mercy Service Standards. Education requirements include ADN with BSN preferred for new hires; nurses without a BSN must complete it within five years.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred for hires after Sept 1, 2013; nurses without BSN must complete degree within 5 years of hire date.
• RN licensure in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; maintain current license.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
