Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks a Pediatric Emergency Registered Nurse for part-time day shifts in Washington, DC. The ED RN delivers compassionate, family-centered care for infants to young adults, with rapid assessments, interventions, and discharge planning.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration with the ED team, and documentation in the EMR. BLS/ACLS/PALS are required; DC RN license is required.

Qualifications

• DC RN License is required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of pediatric ED nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate nursing care in the ED.
• Perform rapid assessments and triage patients by acuity.
• Initiate emergency interventions for trauma, respiratory distress, and other urgent conditions.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments per orders.
• Monitor patient status and document in EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians and other staff to ensure timely treatment.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses and care plans.
• Support infection prevention and maintain a safe environment.
