Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Pediatric Emergency Medicine RN for daytime shifts. The role involves applying the nursing process to deliver direct patient care in a pediatric emergency setting, with emphasis on care coordination and patient advocacy.

Ideal candidates hold an ADN (BSN preferred) and current RN licensure in Missouri or compact licensure, with on-the-job training available for new hires. BLS certification is required and more unit-specific credentials may be needed.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred for hires after Sept 1, 2013.
• BSN must be completed within 5 years for hires after Sept 1, 2013.
• RN license must be current in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Basic Life Support certification required; other unit-specific certs may be required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information.
