Job Description: M Physicians is seeking a full‑time board‑certified/eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician for our Pediatric Emergency Department at Masonic Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Division Overview

Home to the nation’s first Division of Global Pediatrics, faculty involvement in global health is enthusiastically supported at the University of Minnesota. High‑complexity patients are balanced with a healthy number of general pediatric cases. A large percentage of immigrant and refugee patients bring unique perspectives and pathologies to the department.

Qualifications
  • M.D. degree or foreign equivalent
  • Board certification or board eligibility in pediatric emergency medicine
  • Ability to obtain PALS instructor certification within 3 months
  • Valid Minnesota medical license
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Pediatric Emergency Medicine Subspecialty Fellowship
  • Licensed or able to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria for Credentialing and Privileges
  • Legal work authorization in the United States and maintain status as required by visa category, if applicable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff
  • Patient‑care oriented, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, education focused, creative problem‑solver
Duties

Provide emergency medical services to critically ill and injured pediatric patients, including:

  • Diagnosing and treating all types of medical emergencies for infants, children, teens, and young adults.
  • Conducting complete patient examinations; counseling patients and parents on treatment plans and care.
  • Recording patient medical history.
  • Recommending diagnostic testing based on history and physical examination.
  • Evaluating and managing children/adolescents with mental health conditions with or without addiction.
  • Giving annual instruction of first‑year resident procedures such as suturing, intubation, lumbar puncture, and splinting.
  • Teaching emergency education courses for general EM and pediatric residents.
  • Instruction of at least three PALS courses annually to residents, nurses, physicians, and advanced practitioners.
  • Participating in mock codes with simulations for residents, nurses, and clinical instructors at Hennepin Healthcare.
  • Leading quality improvement projects, outreach to urgent care and community hospitals, and updating ED guidelines.
  • Performing related administrative duties within the division, department, and hospital.
  • Participating in departmental/divisional committees and monthly meetings.
Benefits

Competitive salary range of $370,000–$410,000, commensurate with experience, prorated based on FTE. Salary may include incentive or specialty‑specific compensation components. Full benefits package includes:
