Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Orlando seeks an EEG Technician - Neurology (Full-time) to perform routine outpatient and inpatient EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, and long-term monitoring in a pediatric setting. The role requires ABRET/ACNS guideline familiarity and hands-on experience with 10-20 system hookup.

The position emphasizes patient and family education, data management, and collaboration within the Neurology department to ensure accurate EEG reports and patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited EEG/Neurodiagnostic Program or ABRET-recognized program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in routine EEGs, Ambulatory VEEGs, and Long-Term Monitoring.
• Certification from ABRET within 18 months of hire (R.EEG.T).
• American Heart Association BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot EEG systems for long-term monitoring independently.
• Perform tasks in the EPIC system.
• Set up and troubleshoot video-EEG studies using the 10-20 system with paste and gel adhesives, including hyperventilation and photic stimulation as appropriate.
• Evaluate and analyze scalp video-EEG studies.
• Handle additional duties in the EEG lab as assigned by supervision.
• Maintain clinical database and archive records for all studies.
• Educate patient and family regarding EEG procedures according to their understanding.
• Coordinate technical aspects that may affect EEG interpretation/report generation.
