Job summary

Phoenix Children’s ED is seeking an ED Paramedic for Avondale, AZ. This full-time role involves direct patient care in the Emergency Department under approved protocols and with the healthcare team. Shifts include days and nights (7pm–8:30am) with a focus on medication administration, assessments, and family communication.

Applicants will work under the medical director and collaborate across departments to ensure safe, high‑quality pediatric care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Formal licensure as a paramedic as required by state regulations.
• Ability to perform direct patient care under physician-approved protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care interventions including medication administration per protocol.
• Completes focused assessments and escalates abnormalities as needed.
• Provides unit orientation and supports hospital systems for patients and families.
• Contributes to team effort while maintaining medication storage and documentation standards.
• Participates in meetings, rounds, and in-service programs; supports department operations.
• Maintains ongoing department environment and patient care needs; performs miscellaneous duties.
