Job summary

Children's Wisconsin is seeking a skilled Echo Technician to join our pediatric echocardiography lab. Reporting to the Heart Echo Supervisor, you will perform non-invasive cardiac studies, operate the echocardiography systems, and prepare preliminary reports for cardiologists.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, document patient information in echo logbooks, assist with billing in EPIC, and help train a Level II echo technologist while progressing toward board certification.

Qualifications

• Requires high school education plus two years of echocardiography education.
• Registration as Pediatric Echo Tech within 2 years of hire.
• Analytical skills to identify cardiac pathology.
• Ability to move heavy equipment safely (300–400 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Perform non-invasive pediatric echocardiography studies as directed.
• Operate echocardiography equipment according to procedure.
• Prepare preliminary echocardiography reports for cardiologist interpretation.
• Review studies with the cardiologist.
• Maintain lab and equipment in clean, proper working order.
• Record patient information in echo logbooks.
• Assist with hospital billing using EPIC.
• Demonstrate progress toward board certification with Level II mentorship.
