Pride Health is seeking an Echocardiography Technician to join the Non-Invasive Cardiology team in Flushing, NY. You will perform echocardiograms, operate and maintain equipment, and support physicians during procedures while delivering compassionate patient care.

The role is a 21-week contract, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 37.5 hours per week, with a local pay range of $64–$68 per hour. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and patient-centered care within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Approved echocardiography training program completed.
  • Minimum 2+ years as Echocardiography Technician I.
  • ICAEL-recognized certification eligible.
  • Basic clerical skills and ~25 WPM typing.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Echocardiography Technician to join a Non-Invasive Cardiology team. The technician will perform and document echocardiograms, operate and maintain echocardiography equipment, assist physicians during cardiac procedures, and provide compassionate patient care while maintaining department safety, quality, and infection-control standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiograms as ordered and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate, inspect, clean, and maintain echocardiography equipment and supplies.
  • Respond to STAT echocardiogram requests within 15 minutes.
  • Verify patient identification and match patients with appropriate test orders.
  • Explain procedures and positioning requirements to patients and families.
  • Select appropriate transducers and adjust equipment settings to obtain optimal images.
  • Document completed studies, prepare files/data, and maintain accurate department logs.
  • Review studies and communicate test-related findings or technical concerns with physicians and clinical staff.
  • Reschedule exams when patient condition or equipment/clinical circumstances prevent completion.
  • Assist professional staff during procedures such as pericardiocentesis, including scanning, marking the patient, and maintaining sterile technique.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and promptly report or resolve issues as appropriate.
  • Recognize patient problems and obtain assistance from an MD or RN when needed.
  • Maintain adequate equipment and supply levels.
  • Perform clerical duties including filing, maintaining records, answering phones, and directing inquiries.
  • Assist with cross‑training departmental staff.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and professional communication with patients, families, staff, physicians, visitors, and vendors.
  • Follow all quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection-control, and departmental policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved Echocardiography Training Program required.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Echocardiography Technician I required.
  • Working knowledge of echocardiography equipment, procedures, and supplies.
  • Must be required/eligible to obtain an ICAEL-recognized certification.
  • Basic clerical skills, including filing and light typing at approximately 25 WPM.
  • Strong interpersonal and human-relations skills for working with patients and families.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to explain procedures and positioning requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain equipment, supplies, records, and workflow.
  • Ability to identify equipment and patient-related issues and escalat appropriately.
  • 21-week contract position
  • Shift is 7.5 hrs/day (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM), 37.5 hrs/week
  • Location is Flushing, NY 11355
  • Local Pay Range: $64 - $68 per hour
  • Pay Range for travelers: $2,940 - $2,980 per week
