Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking an Echocardiographer at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital to perform cardiac ultrasound studies including 2D ECHO and stress tests. The role supports the Cardiology department on a rotating shift and requires ARDMS/CCI eligibility within one year and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities include EKGs, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and maintaining ICAEL accreditation while providing high-quality patient care at one of the nation’s largest Catholic healthcare systems.

Qualifications

• Must be registered or registry eligible; certification within one year by ARDMS/CCI.
• Completion of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent experience.
• ACLS certification is required and current.

Responsibilities

• Perform 2D Echoes, Stress Echoes, Bubble Studies, Holters and EKGs following ASE guidelines.
• Conduct EKGs, Event and Holter monitoring and stress testing.
• Assist with department workflow and patient throughput.
• Maintain ICAEL accreditation and uphold patient confidentiality.

Position Purpose: Responsible for performing a variety of procedures including 2D ECHO’s, Stress Echo’s, Bubble Studies, Holters and EKG’s.

Shift available: Rotating

Status available: Contingent

Required Qualifications:

• Must be registered or registry eligible.Certification must be obtained within one year of hire date by an accredited credentialing body, such as the ARDMS or CCI.

• Completion of a formal program in diagnostic medical sonography or experienced with current registry status.

• Responsible for educational needs in accordance with license.

• ACLS required.

What the Echocardiographer will do:

• Responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound and stress echocardiograms following American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines.

• Perform EKG’s, Event and Holter monitors.

• Stress Testing

• Assist with department patient workflow and facilitating throughput by starting IV's, etc. as needed.

• Provide quality patient care by considering the age specific, development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.

• Demonstrate unit/area competencies.

• Identify and assist in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation and maintenance of the environment.

• Be knowledgeable in all ASE guidelines.

• Have experience with Microsoft Professional.

• Maintain Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).

• Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships.Approach conflict in a constructive manner. Help to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.

• Maintain the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, employees, and visitors.

• Other duties as assigned.
