Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pediatric Echocardiography Technologist to perform pediatric echocardiograms in inpatient and outpatient settings. You will use multiple systems, differentiate artifacts from true images, and tailor exams to clinical questions while communicating results to the care team.

The role requires RDCS_AE or RCS credentials within one year, plus pediatric registry within 12 months and BLS/CPR.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
• Two years of experience in adult echocardiography preferred.
• Registered in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS_AE) or RCS per ARDMS/CCI within one year.
• Must obtain pediatric registry status within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric echocardiogram on inpatients and outpatients using appropriate systems.
• Differentiate artifacts from true images and tailor exams to clinical questions.
• Recognize various cardiac defects and perform emergency exams as needed.
• Maintain records, communicate findings to physicians, and complete billing and reporting.
• Ensure equipment readiness and supply stocking.
