Job summary

CHOC's Dietetic Technician I provides age appropriate nutrition care and handles sterile preparation and unit dose forms of breastmilk and formula pursuant to physicians orders within the hospital centralized preparation lab.

Assists with food service line for specialty patients, calculates and documents calorie counts, plans nourishments under supervision of RD, screens patients at nutritional risk, and educates and monitors for low risk patients.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of family-centered patient care and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to adhere to licensure and hospital regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate nutrition care and education to patients.
• Assist with sterile preparation and unit-dose forms of breastmilk and formula per orders.
• Assist with food service line for specialty patients and document calorie counts.
