Job summary

The Dietetic Technician I at CHOC in Orange, CA provides age appropriate nutrition care and handles sterile preparation of breastmilk and formula under physician orders in the hospital's centralized lab.

Under supervision of a Registered Dietitian, you assist with food service for specialty patients, calculate calories, plan nourishments, screen nutritional risk, educate and monitor for low nutritional risk patients.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in Dietetics or Nutrition with eligibility to take the DTR exam.
• Registered Dietetic Technician within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to provide family-centered nutrition care and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide age appropriate nutrition care and assist with breastmilk/formula preparation in central lab.
• Assist with food service line for specialty patients and calculate calories.
• Plan nourishments under RD supervision and screen patients at nutritional risk.
• Educate and monitor low nutritional risk patients and support families.
