Job summary

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia seeks a Pediatric Dentist Attending to join our team and provide comprehensive pediatric dental care within a teaching environment.

The role emphasizes supervising pediatric dental residents during clinic, OR, and conscious sedation, contributing to resident education, and helping shape the Pediatric Dental Residency Program. Leadership opportunities are available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from CODA-accredited dental school required.
• Board certification in Pediatric Dentistry by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry preferred or required.
• Able to obtain a Pennsylvania dental license before or shortly after start date.
• Possession of a PA anesthesia permit – restricted I (oral conscious sedation) is required or obtainable.
• Proven hands-on medical-dental management experience in a hospital/academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pediatric dental residents during clinic, operating room, and conscious sedation procedures.
• Participate in resident didactic lectures, clinical care, and evaluations.
• Help develop and implement goals for the Pediatric Dental Residency Program.
• Foster resident research activities and scholarly activities.
• Demonstrate leadership with opportunities to advance to Associate Program Director or Program Director positions for qualified individuals.

Education

DMD or DDS (CODA-accredited dental school)

Board-certified in Pediatric Dentistry (American Board of Pediatric Dentistry)

Active Pennsylvania dental license

Pennsylvania anesthesia permit – restricted I (oral conscious sedation)

Hands-on medical-dental management experience
