Job summary

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from a CODA-accredited dental school.
• Completion of a CODA-accredited Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatric Dentistry.
• Valid DEA and Controlled Substances licenses for Illinois.
• CPR/BLS (PALS preferred) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pediatric dental setting.
• Excellent communication skills with children and caregivers.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, equitable care to diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative and restorative dental care to infants, children, and adolescents.
• Diagnose and treat oral diseases and conditions in pediatric patients.
• Administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia per state regulations and MRHC protocols.
• Perform pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, space maintenance, extractions, and restorations.
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Collaborate with other dental and medical providers and staff.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and documentation.
• Ensure infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and IDFPR compliance.
• Participate in quality improvement and community outreach as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Reports To: Head of Dental

Midwest Refuah Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike, is seeking a compassionate, board-certified Pediatric Dentist to join our growing dental clinic. Rooted in a mission to provide accessible and affordable care, this role offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive dental care to children and adolescents in a supportive, culturally sensitive, and family-centered environment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide preventative and restorative dental care to infants, children, and adolescents, including patients with special healthcare needs
• Diagnose and treat oral diseases, developmental conditions, and trauma specific to pediatric patients
• Administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia in accordance with state regulations and MRHC protocols
• Perform pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, space maintenance, extractions, and composite restorations
• Educate patients and their families on oral hygiene, nutrition, growth and development, and preventive care
• Work collaboratively with other dental providers, hygienists, medical providers, and administrative staff
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment documentation
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards, HIPAA, OSHA, and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) requirements
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach as needed
• All other duties as assigned
