Midwest Refuah Health Center is seeking a compassionate, board-certified Pediatric Dentist to join our dental clinic in Chicago. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive dental care to children and adolescents in a family-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD from CODA-accredited dental school.
  • Pediatric Dentistry Residency completed.
  • Board certification or eligibility in pediatric dentistry.
  • Illinois DEA license and Controlled Substances license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventative and restorative dental care to infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Diagnose and treat oral diseases, developmental conditions, and trauma in pediatric patients.
  • Administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia per state regulations and MRHC protocols.
  • Perform pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, space maintainers, extractions, and composite restorations.
  • Educate patients and families on oral hygiene, nutrition, growth and development, and preventive care.
  • Collaborate with other dental providers, hygienists, medical providers, and administrative staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Ensure HIPAA, OSHA, and IDFPR compliance.
  • Participate in quality improvement and community outreach.

Job Type: Part-time or Full-Time

Reports To: Head of Dental

Midwest Refuah Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike, is seeking a compassionate, board-certified Pediatric Dentist to join our growing dental clinic. Rooted in a mission to provide accessible and affordable care, this role offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive dental care to children and adolescents in a supportive, culturally sensitive, and family-centered environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide preventative and restorative dental care to infants, children, and adolescents, including patients with special healthcare needs
  • Diagnose and treat oral diseases, developmental conditions, and trauma specific to pediatric patients
  • Administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia in accordance with state regulations and MRHC protocols
  • Perform pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, space maintenance, extractions, and composite restorations
  • Educate patients and their families on oral hygiene, nutrition, growth and development, and preventive care
  • Work collaboratively with other dental providers, hygienists, medical providers, and administrative staff
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment documentation
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards, HIPAA, OSHA, and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach as needed
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • DDS or DMD from a CODA-accredited dental school
  • Completion of a CODA-accredited Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatric Dentistry
  • Valid DEA and Controlled Substance licenses for Illinois
  • Malpractice insurance (or eligibility to obtain)
  • CPR/BLS (PALS preferred) certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pediatric dental setting (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with children and caregivers
  • Commitment to providing trauma-informed, equitable care to diverse communites
