Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to provide oral health care and education in hospital clinics and School Health settings as prescribed by the Dentist.

The role requires Ohio licensure, CPR certification, and the ability to work with nitrous oxide. Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office is preferred. Flexible schedule involves 8am-4:30pm variations Mon-Thurs and Fri, 20 hours per week onsite.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Experience working with various levels within an organization is required.
• Strong attention to detail and concentration skills is required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
• Experience and willingness to work with Nitrous Oxide.

Responsibilities

• Provides oral health care, dental health education and remediable intraoral procedures to patients in the hospital clinic or in School Health as prescribed by the Dentist.
• Contributes to the assessment of individual patient care.
• Contributes to the delivery of individual patient care.
• Demonstrates ability to provide age-appropriate care and service to patients from birth to 21 years, and selected adults.
• Participates in the educational, safety and quality efforts of the Dental Practice
• Other duties as required.
