Forest Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry in Lake Forest - Gurnee is seeking a Pediatric Dental Hygienist Assistant for part-time or full-time hours. You will perform pediatric cleanings, educate families, take and develop X-rays, and support the dental team in a warm, child-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and oral assessments for pediatric patients, including prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
• Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene, brushing, flossing, and nutrition.
• Assess and document oral health conditions and assist in individualized treatment plans.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and assist with charting and recordkeeping.
• Engage with pediatric patients in a friendly manner to ensure a positive dental experience.
• Support the pediatric dentist and dental assistants during procedures.

Title: Pediatric Dental Hygienist Assistant – Part-Time/ Full -Time

Job Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and oral assessments for pediatric patients, including prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, and application of dental sealants


• Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition for optimal dental health


• Assess and document patients' oral health conditions and collaborate with the pediatric dentist to develop individualized treatment plans


• Take and develop dental X-rays and assist with patient charting and recordkeeping


• Engage and interact with pediatric patients in a friendly and compassionate manner to create a positive and comfortable dental experience


• Support the pediatric dentist and dental assistants during procedures and provide assistance as needed


• Collaborate with the dental team to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements

• Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program


• Current state licensure and CPR certification


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with children and parents in a friendly and informative manner


• Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and promoting positive dental experiences for children


• Excellent communication skills to engage and explain dental procedures in kid-friendly language.

Schedule

This is a part-time position, with approximately 16-20 hours per week, including some early evenings accommodate our young patients' schedules.
