Job summary

Carolina Pediatric Dentistry - Downtown in Raleigh, NC is seeking a friendly pediatric dental assistant to support the dentist and care team. You will prepare patients, greet families, assist during treatments, and maintain a welcoming, kid-friendly environment.

You will manage instruments, sterilization, chart notes, and daily tasks to ensure smooth operations and positive patient experiences for 12–15+ patients daily.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Well-organized and reliable.
• Training requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates)
• High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred

Responsibilities

• Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of each clinical day to participate in team morning meeting.
• Welcome patients to the dental office with a smile and positive energy.
• Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort.
• Ensure that patients have an excellent experience by providing care in a patient-friendly environment.
• Serve as chairside clinical assistant, including photographs, x-rays, assisting through 4-handed dentistry, and setting up instruments.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
• Efficiently run clinical chair to see 12-15+ patients per day in a timely manner.
