Qualifications

• Licenses or certificates in dental assisting
• Active dental x-ray certification
• Previous experience as a dental assistant
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in dental practice
• Coronal polishing experience is a plus
• Computer skills for practice management software
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Attention to detail
• Well-organized and reliable
• High school diploma; dental assistant school preferred

Responsibilities

• Arrive 15 minutes early for the clinical day, ready to participate in the team morning meeting
• Welcome patients with a smile and positive energy
• Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring comfort
• Provide a patient-friendly experience and greet patients by name at appointments
• Get to know patients and interact with families over time
• Serve as chairside assistant, proficient in radiographs, photos, 4-handed dentistry, and instruments
• Type chart notes using dental terminology familiar to the practice
• Schedule appointments and support administrative team as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payments
• Toward 12–15+ patients per day in a timely manner
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative instructions
• Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
