Job summary

Indiana University Health’s Riley Hospital for Children is seeking a Full-Time Entry-Level Dental Assistant to join the pediatric dental team. The role offers a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule with no on-call, weekends, or holidays, and opportunities to work with a high volume of pediatric patients.

You will perform patient care under supervision, manage patient data, assist with radiographs, and ensure sterile prep of materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• BLS-CPR certification required.
• Active Dental Radiology License in Indiana required within 9 months of hire.
• Certification in Dental Assisting from an accredited program or 2 years of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care services under the supervision of a dentist or as directed by the supervisor.
• Collects and reports patient intake data, medical history, and clinical care provided.
• Facilitates patient flow, provides patient education, and explains insurance coverage/co-pays.
• Assists with radiographs using safe radiology processes and supports care delivery.
• Ensures aseptic/sterile processing of instruments and supplies according to policies.
• Performs administrative duties, schedules patient visits, and handles patient correspondence.
• Other duties as assigned.
