Job summary

West Coast Dental is seeking a compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to support clinicians in a busy Artesia pediatric practice. You will assist during procedures, take X-rays, and help educate children and families on oral health.

The role emphasizes a welcoming, child-friendly environment, strong teamwork, and meticulous patient records. A dental assistant certification and comfort working with kids are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant certification.
• Experience in a pediatric dental setting (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with children and families.
• Team-oriented with good organizational and multitasking skills.
• Pediatric dental office focused on children’s care.
• Emphasis on creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for young patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures (4-handed dentistry).
• Prepare, sterilize, and organize dental instruments and equipment.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Ensure treatment rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients.
• Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene practices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Follow infection control, OSHA, and safety protocols.
• Help manage patient flow and create a positive, child-friendly environment.
