Job summary

Quince Orchard Dental Care in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. The role supports the dentist during pediatric procedures, helps create a warm, child-friendly environment, and contributes to accurate records and patient education.

We offer a full-time schedule, Monday–Thursday 8:40am–5:00pm and Friday 7:40am–3:00pm, with benefits and an hourly wage of $24–$27 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Pediatric dental experience preferred.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures and examinations.
• Comfort and reassure children throughout their dental visits.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, child-friendly environment.
• Taking and processing X-rays of patients.
• Greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
• Advise patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.

Salary Range: $24.00 - $27.00 Hourly

Previous experience in a pediatric dental setting is strongly preferred. Our Dental Assistants deliver “Best in Class” care to every patient, every day. The ideal candidate for this position is an individual that has a high level of empathy, patience, quick thinking, and a willingness to want to help others. The Dental Assistant “assists” our Dentist during a variety of dental procedures. Whether you are an experienced Dental Assistant, or you are motivated to learn more about the dental industry we would like to tell you more.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Thursday 8:40am-5pm, Friday 7:40am-3pm

Dental Assisting Job Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures and examinations
• Comfort and reassure children throughout their dental visits
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment
• Knowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental terms
• Taking and processing X-rays of patients
• Perform lab tasks as instructed
• Greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointments
• Advising patients on recommended oral hygiene
• Maintaining accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
• Strong communications skills required to deliver oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Handling general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental practice

Qualifications

• Pediatric dental experience preferred
• Current Radiology License/Certification required
• A genuine desire and enthusiasm for working with children
• Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with your co-workers and patients
• Spanish-speaking is a plus!
• A positive attitude and willingness to create a fun, comfortable experience for every child
