Job summary

Vitanapdp in Florida is seeking a friendly Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing team. You will assist doctors, manage instruments, and support patients of all ages in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Dental assisting experience is required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities to grow with a collaborative practice in Pembroke Pines and Plantation.

Qualifications

• Full-time role, 38–40 hours per week.
• Location: Pembroke Pines and Plantation, FL.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Dental assisting experience required; those without not considered.
• Orthodontic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange tools and instruments for procedures.
• Hand tools to dentist and assist during treatment.
• Perform prophylaxis and fluoride treatments.
• Sterilize equipment and record findings.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Assist dentist during various procedures.
• Take patient medical histories and ensure comfort.

Dental assisting experience is required. Candidates without prior dental experience will not be considered.

Job Tasks:

• Prepared and arranged needed tools and instruments for scheduled procedures.
• Handed necessary tools and equipment to the dentist and provided assistance during treatment.
• Performing prophylaxis, administering fluoride treatments
• Recorded findings, changed barriers, or sterilized equipment.
• Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Asking about the patient's medical history
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Providing patients with instructions for oral care or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling)
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
• Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
• Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
• Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies)

Requirements:

• FULL TIME - 38-40 HOURS / WEEK MINIMUM
• SCHEDULE: TBD upon completion of interview and hire
• LOCATION: Pembroke Pines and Plantation
• Bilingual speaker is a plus (both English/ Spanish)
