Valley Children’s Hospital is seeking a Day Surgery Charge Nurse to lead the preoperative and postoperative care teams on the Day Surgery unit. You will oversee patient flow, staffing, and adherence to care standards during your shift, ensuring safe, efficient operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree nursing, CA RN license, and 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience. BLS and PALS within set deadlines are expected while coordinating with physicians and nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• Two years of pediatric nursing experience (required).
• RN license in California (required).
• BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer (required).
• PALS within 12 months of hire or transfer (required).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Day Surgery unit during assigned shift.
• Support patient flow and coordination across preop and postop phases.
• Assist with staff recruitment, competency evaluation, coaching, and counseling.
