Job summary

Arkansas Children's in Little Rock seeks a Part-time CT Technologist to develop knowledge to perform quality CT exams in a safe and timely manner while delivering excellent patient care.

Requires an Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree is recommended. Certification ARRT-(R)(N)(CT) or Radiologic Technologist License in Arkansas within one year is required; pediatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college program, technical school, or nursing diploma
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university (recommended)
• Direct - No experience required
• Direct - Pediatric work experience recommended
• 1 of the following certifications must be obtained in one year: ARRT-(R)(N)(CT) or Radiologic Technologist License - Arkansas Department of Health
• ARRT CT certification and CNMT are recommended

Responsibilities

• Verifies exams as ordered by physician
• Developing knowledge to perform correct scan protocols to decrease radiation exposure to patients
• Developing knowledge of and adherence to radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding (ALARA)
• Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast
• Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families
• Ensures that work area is properly maintained
• Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT
• Maintains equipment and requests service as needed
• Complies with all regulatory laws, standards, and protocols
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
