Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System in Prosper, TX seeks a certified surgical technologist to support our pediatric surgical teams. The CST will prepare ORs, maintain sterile fields, pass instruments, and assist with patient positioning under the direction of RN/MD.

Requirements include NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C certification, AHA BLS, and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program. Two+ years in a fast-paced OR is preferred; on-call rotations apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current CST or TS-C certification prior to employment.
• Basic Life Support certification (AHA) is required or in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Maintain sterile field throughout procedures and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Pass instruments efficiently and assist with patient positioning.
• Perform surgical counts per protocol and collaborate with the team.
• Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment; support infection prevention standards.
