Job summary

Shriner's Children’s Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Critical Care PICU in Galveston, TX. The role supports emergency pediatric intensive care for critically ill children and involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires a BSN (or in progress), Texas RN license, BLS, and at least two years of acute care experience. ICU, PACU, NICU, and pediatric experience are preferred, with bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• BSN degree or in progress.
• Texas RN license.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Two years’ acute care hospital experience.
• Preferred ICU, PACU or NICU experience.
• Pediatric experience would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assesses comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs to derive the diagnosis.
• Involves patient, family and health care team in planning individualized care.
• Implements the plan of care with patient and family and team.
• Utilizes teaching strategies for the patient’s condition and learning needs.
• Evaluates patient/family understanding and response to the plan of care.
