Job summary

UVA Health Children's is launching a new interdisciplinary approach to psychosocial care, creating a unique opportunity to help build a creative arts therapy program from the ground up.

As the first Creative Arts Therapist in this role, you will bring the therapeutic power of music or art into pediatric care while shaping a program to support the emotional, developmental, social, and coping needs of children and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Art Therapy and/or Music Therapy from an accredited program.
• Certification or eligibility for ATR/ATR-BC/MT-BC within one year of hire.
• 1 year of clinical experience in pediatric healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate individual and group music or art therapy sessions for pediatric patients.
• Apply evidence-based creative arts interventions to address physical, emotional, cognitive, developmental and social needs.
• Collaborate with Child Life Services and interdisciplinary medical teams.
• Design and implement the new creative arts therapy program and clinical workflows.
