Job summary

MedCare Pediatric is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our pediatric outpatient therapy team in Houston, TX. You will work under a licensed OT to help children improve fine motor skills, self-care, and independence in a clinic-based setting.

The ideal candidate is a licensed COTA with pediatric experience or new grads encouraged to apply, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for partnering with families to support developmental progress.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current Texas COTA license or eligible to obtain licensure by start date.
  • Pediatric OT experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with developmental delays, ASD, sensory processing challenges, or neurological conditions is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Implement treatment plans focused on improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor skills, coordination, strength, self-care skills, and independence.
  • Assist children in achieving developmental milestones through engaging and age-appropriate therapeutic activities.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and patient progress.
  • Communicate with families and caregivers regarding therapy goals and progress.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and other members of the pediatric therapy team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain a fun, safe, and encouraging clinic environment for children and families.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Pediatric Outpatient Clinic

MedCare Pediatric is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing pediatric outpatient therapy team. At MedCare Pediatric, we provide individualized, child-centered occupational therapy services in a supportive clinic-based environment. As a COTA, you will work closely with a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide hands-on therapy that helps children develop fine motor skills, sensory processing skills, coordination, self-care abilities, and functional independence.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to provide comprehensive pediatric care. Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Qualifications & Responsibilities:
