Job summary

Accel is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a clinic-based team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help implement individualized treatment plans to improve functional skills, independence, and participation in daily activities for children and clients.

The ideal candidate is patient, organized, and passionate about supporting developmental, educational, and functional goals within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified COTA working under licensed OT.
• Experience with children and developmental goals preferred.
• Ability to implement individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and provides consultative assistance to staff and parents on perceptual/sensory motor and related therapies.
• Investigates case situations and presents information to the multi-disciplinary team.
• Assist students/clients to respond constructively to intervention and transition back to school or other setting.
• Assists in evaluation of students/clients upon entry to the program.
• Conducts individual or group therapy programs to remediate sensory motor and related disorders.
• Plans and conducts remedial programs to improve functional skills.
• Coordinates with supervisor to determine diagnostic needs and OT materials used throughout Accel.
• Coordinates with supervisor to ensure Therapy Department equipment is serviced and maintained.
• Performs related duties as required by the Therapy Supervisor.
