Job summary

University of Wisconsin Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist - Pediatrics to join the inpatient care team in Madison, WI. The role focuses on pediatric medication therapy management, bedside emergencies, teaching residents, and rounds with the interdisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have inpatient pediatric experience and board certification or pediatric residency training, with Wisconsin licensure within 90 days and BLS/PALS requirements.

Qualifications

• Inpatient pediatric experience required or board certification/pediatric residency training preferred.
• Licensed to practice in Wisconsin within 90 days required (see Licenses & Certifications)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 180 days required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive pediatric medication therapy management as part of an interdisciplinary inpatient care team to ensure drug therapy is safe, effective, efficient, and cost effective.
• Actively participate in bedside medical emergencies with medication expertise in selection, preparation, procurement, documentation, and history review.
• Teach and precept Pharmacy Residents and PharmD students through structured experiences and didactic education.
• Engage in interdisciplinary patient care rounds, including medication reconciliation, therapy monitoring, order verification, education, drug information support, and individualized dosing.
• Contribute to development and implementation of clinical practice guidelines, order sets, and standardized protocols; participate in quality improvement activities.
