Job summary

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) to lead night shift operations within the APH Special Care Team. The CANM will guide patient care assignments, optimize patient flow, and ensure high-quality care and customer experience under the supervision of Nursing Operations leadership.

The role requires RN licensure in Florida with BLS, a BSN preferred, and experience in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Current Florida RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Certifications in area of expertise are preferred; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required depending on population.

Responsibilities

• Exemplar of the mission, vision, and values of Orlando Health.
• Manages staffing and shift assignments based on patient acuity to ensure care needs are met.
• Coordinates patient flow with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners.
• Monitors patient status, including seriously ill patients, and ensures orders are followed.
• Serves as a resource to frontline team members and providers.
• Supports clinical collaboration focused on reducing length of stay.
• Performs direct patient care activities as needed to meet operational requirements.
• Interacts with patients and families to enhance the customer experience via nurse leader rounds and responsive issue resolution.
• Leads safety huddles and promotes change and problem solving.
• Assesses equipment needs to support staff and patient care.
