Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support multiple pediatric specialty clinics in the Katy, Texas area. The role involves assisting with in-office procedures, managing patient messages, coordinating care for children with complex needs, and ensuring adherence to clinical standards across specialties.

This is an onsite position at the Katy Clinic. The successful candidate will handle routine tasks, scheduling, and clerical duties while maintaining patient-centered care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program OR one year of experience and certification may be substituted for training.
• Three years of experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
• Plans and prepares patient visits with required schedules, results, and clinic requirements.
• Rooms patients and documents chief complaint, vitals, meds, allergies, and smoking history.
• Performs hearing/vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point-of-care testing, specimen collection and related tasks as competency is validated.
• Prepares and stocks exam rooms; assists with routine and specialty procedures.
