Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; equivalent experience cannot substitute.
• One year of experience with hospitalized children is preferred.
• Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) is required within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Assess emotional and medical needs of patients and families to determine support during the medical experience.
• Formulate a plan of interaction and present it at psychosocial rounds and team meetings.
• Document interactions in medical records and provide developmentally appropriate play to support coping.
• Prepare children and families for procedures to optimize understanding and reduce anxiety.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure coordinated, family-centered care.
