Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Counseling, Special Education, Recreation Therapy, or related field; equivalent experience not substitutable for a Bachelor's degree.
• One year of experience with hospitalized children as a Certified Child Life Specialist preferred.
• Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess emotional and medical needs of patients and families; formulate a plan and present to the team.
• Document all interactions in medical records.
• Provide play/recreational activities aligned with developmental needs.
• Prepare children and families for procedures to enhance understanding and coping.
• Support family-centered and comprehensive care; communicate with physicians and staff.
