Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a Registered Nurse for the Hematology/Oncology Care Unit to provide comprehensive pediatric cancer and blood disorder care. The role includes administering chemotherapy/biotherapy, managing complex central lines, and collaborating with the care team to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care.

Minimum ASN required with BLS and APHON Chemobiotherapy certification.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse licensed in DC and eligible for HCU duties.
• BLS certification required; APHON Chemobiotherapy provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemo/biotherapy safely and independently.
• Manage care for central lines (Broviacs, port-a-cath, PICC).
• Coordinate with the care team to plan and document patient care.
• Escalate issues using the chain of command as needed.
• Support Magnet designation efforts and professional development.
