Job summary

Children's Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician in Plano, TX to support nurses and respiratory therapists in pediatric care from birth to 18 years old. This on-site role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and efficient care delivery within the ERC department.

The position requires active enrollment in a nursing program for students or a high school diploma/GED with BLS certification. Responsibilities include room preparation, vital signs, and emergency support in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program (if a student)
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for patient admission with age-appropriate equipment and supplies; assist with baths, vital signs, positioning, ambulating, waste disposal, I/O documentation
• Possess ability to perform advanced patient care tasks as assigned
• Respond to patient and family needs, assist RN, maintain safe environment, transport to procedures/testing as needed
• Assist in emergency situations by initiating BLS and assisting with code cart checks
• May perform other duties as assigned
