Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Cardiovascular Technologist to perform color flow and stress echocardiograms and assist in transesophageal echocardiograms. The role requires pediatric experience and ARDMS/CCI registration.

You will work day shifts, MON-FRI, with 8 AM-4 PM hours and potential overtime or holiday coverage as needed. Strong attention to infection control and quality imaging are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; minimum education.
• ARDMS or CCI registration required.
• Two years’ pediatric echocardiogram experience.
• Experience in other non-invasive procedures.
• Organized with attention to detail and able to work under stress.
• Exposure to chemicals per SDS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct color flow Doppler Echos following established protocols.
• Perform Stress Echos per protocols.
• Assist Cardiologist in TEE procedures.
• Submit echocardiograms of highest quality within the time span.
• Identify abnormal echo findings and report life-threatening situations.
• Coverage rotation to other outpatient offsites.
• May work holidays/overtime as needed.

Job Summary

The Pediatric Cardiovascular Technologist will conduct Color Flow Echocardiograms, conduct Stress Echocardiograms and assists the Cardiologist in Transesophageal Echocardiograms. They will also conduct other Non-Invasive procedures such as EKG, EEGs.

Essential Functions

• Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
• Conducts color flow Doppler Echos following established protocols.
• Conducts Stress Echos according to established protocols.
• Assist Cardiologist in the TEE procedure.
• Submits echocardiogram at the highest quality possible well within the appropriate time span.
• Identifies and conducts Echos without delegation.
• Identifies and conducts other Non-Invasive testing without delegation. Example: EKG, Holter.
• Must be proficient in the use of all other medical equipment such as EKG and EEG machines.
• Must be proficient in the use of office equipment such as copy machine, fax and computer.
• Recognizes and reports and equipment malfunction.
• Maintains safety standards at all times and follows infection control guidelines.
• Performs routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking-in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, or
• Participates in the performance improvement program.
• Demonstrates the ability to work and communicate with all members of the practice team.
• Conducts other Non-Invasive procedures.
• Recognizes abnormal echo findings and communicates any life-threatening situation to the appropriate personnel.
• Ability to interact with neonates through the geriatric population.
• Coverage rotation to other outpatient offsites.
• Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the offsite practices.
• May be required to work holidays, overtime and/or day, evening and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe
• coverage for the outpatient facility.
• Position is eligible for certification incentive.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree minimum of an associates degree Required and
• Accredited Cardiovascular Ultrasound Program
• Registered Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist, or, ARDMS or CCI required
• Two years’ experience conducting echocardiograms on pediatric patients.
• Experience in other non-invasive procedures.
• Organized
• Adaptability
• Pays close attention to detail and has a high tolerance for stressful work environment
• May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
