  • Maintain accurate patient records and billing documentation, monitor and replenish laboratory inventory and supplies, and contribute to the efficient operation of the EKG laboratory.
  • Provide guidance and support to student volunteers working within the laboratory.

Job description

Pediatric Cardiology - EKG Technician (TEMP)

The Temporary Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician provides technical support for the Pediatric Cardiology Diagnostic Services team by performing electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs) and Holter monitor hookups for both inpatient and outpatient populations at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic. This position supports the delivery of high-quality diagnostic testing for pediatric patients, including those with congenital heart disease, as well as adult congenital heart patients.

This is a temporary position intended to provide coverage during staff maternity/parental leave. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work for a minimum of 12 weeks, with the potential for a longer assignment to support additional staffing needs, as needed.

Required Qualifications*

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in performing EKGs and basic EKG interpretation knowledge.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients and their families are essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective organizational and multitasking abilities, and sound problem-solving skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
