Job summary

VCU Health System is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer/Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and support physicians in image interpretation. You will select appropriate transducers and frequencies, maintain records, and uphold patient safety and confidentiality while delivering high-quality imaging.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI RDCS or RCS/RCCS certification, BLS, and at least 1 year of experience in cardiac sonography.

Qualifications

• Licensure/certification required: RDCS (AE/PE) or RCS/RCCS (CCI).
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.
• 1 year of prior work experience as Cardiac Sonographer/Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams as ordered by a physician or for interpretation by an LIP.
• Select ultrasonic frequencies and transducers appropriate for the exam.
• Maintain patient records and protect confidentiality per policy.
• Ensure patient safety and assist/transport patients during procedures.
• Provide patient education related to imaging procedures and participate in QA activities.
