Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk, VA seeks a Certified Clinical Perfusionist to support cardiothoracic surgery. Under supervision, you will operate heart-lung machines, ensure adequate perfusion, and monitor patient physiology throughout procedures.

Requirements include a CAAHEP-approved degree, a Bachelor of Science, and 2–3 years of perfusion experience with ongoing ABP certification and malpractice coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAAHEP-approved program.
• Bachelor's degree in science or nursing required.
• Professional knowledge of cardiovascular perfusion and interpersonal skills.
• Approximately two to three years related work experience.
• Documentation of a minimum of 40 cases per year for recertification.
• Professional liability insurance coverage as required by the hospital.
• Annual AB Cardiovascular Perfusion certification maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provides adequate perfusion during surgery.
• Safely operates perfusion equipment while monitoring patient physiology.
