Job summary

Akron Children's PICU seeks a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine physician to join our expanding, level 1 trauma center. MD or DO, board-eligible/certified in Pediatric Critical Care, plus fellowship in cardiac intensive care, and Ohio license eligibility.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team across a 45-bed PICU, with opportunities for teaching, research, and recruitment incentives in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
• Fellowship training in cardiac intensive care medicine.
• Ability to obtain an active Ohio medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric critical care services in a Level 1 trauma center.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
• Participate in teaching, research, and quality-improvement initiatives.

Join a well-established team of 13 pediatric intensivists and 16 advanced practice providers who provide services in the Hospital's newly expanded 45 bed PICU that includes 13 high acuity beds, a secondary unit that can accommodate an additional 23 patients and a 9-bed cardiac critical care unit.

Akron Children's PICU has more than 1800 annual admissions, providing care for all medical, cardiothoracic surgery, and other surgical subspecialty and ECMO patients. The Hospital is a level 1 trauma center, and the intensivists serve as the medical control physician for a large regional transport service.

Requirements include MD or DO degree, board eligibility/board certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, additional fellowship training in cardiac intensive care medicine and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio.
